  • How do you know when double glazing needs replacing?

    Signs that your double-glazed windows or doors may need replacing include: 

    Draughts, letting water in, allowing excessive amounts of noise in, the uPVC is yellowing or timber is cracking, visible damage particularly to the seals, difficult to open close and lock or are sticking, condensation between the panes of glass.

  • What should I look for in a double glazing company?

    It's important to feel comfortable with any business you deal with, especially one who will be coming into your home.

    Other important things to look out for:

    • Excellent customer reviews on their website and on internet searches.
    • Free and no obligation home appointments.
    • Free design service.

    • Be able to confidently talk about their product range, the benefits and disadvantages of each one and how it specifically affects you.
    • Their double-glazed windows will be ‘A’ rated for energy efficiency.
    • No sub-contractors so you'll know who is doing the work.
    • Their windows will be guaranteed for a minimum of 10 years.
    • Their windows will be security tested (PAS24-2012), endurance tested (Grade 5) and Corrosion resistant (Class 5).

  • Does double glazing make my home safer?

    Double glazing is much harder to break into than convensional windows.

    • The two pains of glass are significantly harder to smash than single pains.
    • uPVC frames can't be forced open from outside.
    • Locking systems on modern windows are far safer than older locks.
  • Is there any way to show what the new double glazing will look like on my home?

    Yes, we can take a photo of your home and super-impose what the new windows and doors will look like.

  • What does uPVC stand for?

    uPVC (or PVCu)  stands for un-plasticised Poly Vinyl Chloride.  Poly Vinyl Chloride is a lightweight but still robust kind of plastic used in many different kinds of modern consumer goods.

    Its strong composition and lightweight design can withstand even the most extreme weather conditions. It is also a very affordable choice for consumers, which obviously adds to its universal appeal.

  • What is better, composite or uPVC doors?

    The obvious answer is that composite doors are higher quality than uPVC doors, but it isn't that simple!

    Depending on the quality of the uPVC door and your own specific circumstances, a uPVC door may in fact be the better option for you.

  • Does it matter what colour front door I have?

    White or light coloured doors are the best choice when in constant direct sunlight, otherwise there is a huge choice of colours to choose from.

  • What are your business hours?

  • What type of payment methods do you accept?

    We prefere bank transfer or cheques.

  • How do I know if I need to repair or replace my windows?

    Simply contact us!  You can describe any issues you are having with your door or windows and we should be able to advise you over the phone or by email.  We can always come out to you to inspect the problem if necessary. 

  • Will fitting new windows or doors add value to my home?

    Research has illustrated that the average value of a home can increase by 10% with a new double glazing installation.  Buyers will also be more likely to buy a home, resulting in a faster sale.

  • Will I need to re-decorate after my windows are fitted?

    No, you will not need to redecorate after replacement doors or windows are fitted, except in the most exceptional circumstances.

  • Should double glazed windows get condensation?

    Not in normal conditions.  If in any doubt, please call us and speak to one of our specialists.

  • Will you dispose of the old windows?

    Yes, we always clear where we have been working and take all rubbish including the old windows and doors away with us.  We then dispose of them responsibly.

  • How long should double glazing last?

    Double glazed windows will typically last over 20 years if looked after correctly.
